NIH supplement awarded to CEDAR-LINCS collaboration

November 17, 2016

The National Institutes of Health recently awarded CEDAR a supplement to pursue collaborative metadata work with the Library of Network-Based Cellular Signatures (LINCS).

The LINCS program aims to create a network-based understanding of biology by cataloging changes in gene expression and other cellular processes that occur when cells are exposed to a variety of perturbing agents. CEDAR and LINCS have agreed to collaborate to produce metadata templates and interfaces that can be used by the LINCS community to enter and manage their metadata. As the collaboration develops, we will explore the validation and curation approaches that are needed for effective end-to-end metadata submission.

Initial results of this program will be presented at the BD2K All Hands Meeting, notably in the poster FAIR LINCS Data and Metadata powered by the CEDAR Framework
