Here you can find everything about CEDAR—our team, our collaborators, our providers, and our partners.

You can also leave us feedback, about just about anything you see on this site or about CEDAR.

Where does the metadata in the CEDAR metadata repository come from?

CEDAR obtains its metadata from three places:

  • Metadata entered by users using CEDAR’s user interfaces;
  • Metadata entered by curators using CEDAR’s APIs for bulk upload; and
  • Metadata obtained by CEDAR staff from other public repositories.

Each source represents a different stage in CEDAR's development and success.

The CEDAR project is in close alignment with several biomedical data interoperability projects, and will interact with these projects throughout CEDAR's performance period.

The partner projects on the CEDAR team of projects are run by our partners at Oxford University, Northrop Grumman, Yale University, and Stanford University. In addition, we are closely connected to our collaborators within the Center for Biomedical Informatics Research (BMIR) at Stanford University's School of Medicine, and will be integrating many CEDAR elements with existing BMIR tools like NCBO's BioPortal, and Protégé/WebProtégé.

The CEDAR project is a team effort, engaging an international collaboration of institutions and individuals.

Here we describe the key roles, organizations, and committees that make the Center successful. For more information on individuals in the CEDAR project, see the People page; for more information on our partner organizations, see the Partner Projects page.

This People page has the CEDAR roster, with contact information for most of the team.

You may contact us directly, but for the best results, we suggest using our feedback form.

Building CEDAR in its first year required a lot of help from our support teams, Wired Moon and MJD Interactive. We are giving them some extra mojo here for supporting some very interesting requests over the course of the year. Thanks everyone!

Our expert External Advisory Board (EAB) members are available on an ongoing basis, and meet yearly to provide input about the project and connection to the wider biomedical, semantic, and big data communities.

The External Advisory Board brings advanced credentials in Semantic Web, Biomedicine, Bioinformatics and Medical Informatics, Digital Science and Scientific Computing, and Digital Archiving and Preservation technologies.
